Are you finding the information and resources you need?
Unfortunately, at this time (being the end of the school year), I have not had the opportunity to discuss my GAME plan with my colleagues. With that said, I feel that because of this class I have already learned a lot more than what I knew week one (and I really do mean that)! The textbook and the resources provided by our instructor and other classmates have helped me feel more confident in the areas that I felt I needed improvement.
Do you need to modify your action plan?
I do feel I need to modify my “Action” plan. As mentioned early, because it is the end of the school year my colleagues and I have not had the opportunity to speak about my GAME plan. Everyone is too concerned with finishing out the year. I think I need to reconsider some other options. Any ideas?
What have you learned so far?
Last week, after reading and participating in the class discussions and application assignment I feel I have a better understanding of how to customize students learning activities through the universal design for learning. I learned that using a variety of assessments and activities in my classroom are all-important elements in providing a quality education to the diverse learners in my classroom.
What new questions have arisen?
I at this moment I do not have any new questions. However, if any new questions arise I will be sure to post to hear/view your responses.

Hi Tania,
ReplyDeleteThe end of the school year is not an ideal time to introduce new ideas. We are all tired and ready for summer vacation. However, I hope you had the opportunity to at least share your ideas with your PLC team. That way they might think about it over the summer.
Since your action plan is to use a PLC team, could you look into forming one online? I am not sure how you would go about that, but maybe even within our classmates? It was just a thought since we will be on summer break now. That way you could continue your action plan toward your goals. Or maybe it is time take a break so you will be refreshed in the fall to bring new ideas to the table. Either way, good luck!
Hi Tania.
ReplyDeleteI think we all can understand how busy the end of the year can be! I have not discussed my GAME plan with my colleagues either (other than to e-mail my school librarian-school technology person); right now I have been focused on completing “check-out lists” and reviewing for final exams.
You said that you think you need to modify your action part somehow. Have you considered attending any district, local, or national conferences over summer break? Maybe through them you could get some more ideas about ways to successfully incorporate technology and diverse/differentiated learning activities into your lesson plans.
Best of luck.

Tonia,
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear the course work, discussions, and resources have helped you with your GAME plan. I have also found my master’s work to be beneficial and challenging.
I understand your frustration with modifying your GAME plan. After this week I was forced to reconfigure and focus on other ideas, but being flexible is an important part of being a good teacher! As it is the end of the school year I think we all understand the duties your PLC is responsible for. Have you considered joining an educational blog of discussion forum to help you complete your GAME plan?
Good luck!
Amanda
Shonda,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your suggestion. I am going to do some research about starting an online PLC. I have never heard of one before, but I will certainly let you know if I have any luck. If not, then I think I may need to wait until September.
Tonya,
Your checklist sounds like mine! This time of year is always to hectic! I think you have a great idea about attending conferences over summer break. I am going to speak with my supervisor to see if he knows of any that would benefit my GAME plan and if he does not suggest any then I will do some research on my own. Please let me know if you hear of anything I could partake in online or in the Northern NJ area.
Amanda,
I absolutely agree, being flexible is key and a necessity for teachers! I do belong to a Foreign Language educational blog, which I have not check in awhile. However, now that you reminded me I am going to check it out again. I think I could probably find some valuable information through there or at the very least I could post something and see if anyone could provide me with information.
Thanks again ladies for all your suggestions!
