Summarize any new learning that resulted from following your GAME plan, and explain what impact your new learning will have on your instructional practice.
The biggest lesson I learned in attempting to follow my game plan is that “timing is EVERYTHING!” Although I was able to incorporate some of the technology resources that I have learned in this course into some of my unit plans, I have not been able to follow or complete the rest of the plan due to the nature of the end of the school year mania. I am glad to say that I have discussed my GAME plan with my supervisor and have set new goals for the following school year. My supervisor and I have also made plans to meet over the summer to further discuss PLC groups.
Describe how you might revise your plan based on your progress.
The area that I think will need the most revision is the monitoring part of my plan. It is the area in which I am most unsure of. I am going to look to my colleagues to guide and advise me through this process. I want to make sure I use effective yet uncomplicated ways to conduct my monitoring.
Share your thoughts and ideas about how you might modify and use the GAME plan process with your students.
Recently I conducted an “end-of-the-year” questionnaire that students filled out anonymously about the course and my teaching. I was so grateful and pleased with their responses. They were respectfully honest and insightful that I would like to use similar ones with my future assessments.
Describe any immediate adjustments you will make to your instructional practice regarding technology integration in your content area(s) as a result of your learning from this course. How might you integrate technology as well as problem-based learning, social networking/online collaboration, and digital storytelling into your instruction?
Unfortunately, I cannot make an immediate adjustment to my instructional practice because school in now over, however in September I would like to incorporate the unit plan that I created for this course and integrate social networking into my instruction. Luckily, I just learned that our district will be using a teacher social networking tool starting next school year. I am very excited to learn more about this because it is a tool that I believe will bring my content area (Spanish) to life! In addition, I will be discussing a possible future course in the school called “Digital Storytelling in Spanish.” I mentioned it to my supervisor and he sounded very excited about it, I am too!
